Hi there, I'm 24 and a modder from London, UK! You'll find me online as either Maki Role or Praetex Design.
I initially dipped my toe into modding in 2011 when I built my first watercooled PC, from then on I was hooked. I've since gone on to win Intel's first 'Design and Build a NUC' competition, along with being a runner up in the second one. I took 1st place in 'Thermaltake's 2016 UK Modding Trophy', along with 'Scratchbuild of the Year 2016' on Bit-Tech plus with 3 other nominations for 'Mod of the Year' there in separate years.
I would say my style varies on my mood. The common theme is that I like to keep things sleek and elegant where possible. To do this I make heavy use of CAD in my builds, a signature of mine is that I like to do photorealistic renders of my proposals. I enjoy employing modern techniques like CNC machining and 3D printing in my builds to achieve looks and forms that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Since I was 14 I've been inspired by great modders in our community, they helped to foster an interest in the field and built each other up. I hope one day to be in the same situation and inspire others to take up their Dremels and get cutting!
